Last week my application was abnormal due a datafile was offline suddenly. I checked that datafile need to be recovered. And there was the good point of oracle which could recover datafile in runtime. It meant we did not need to stop running application. Below are steps to recover datafile in oracle :

1. Login as sysdba
% sqlplus / as sysdba

2. Checking datafile that needs to recover
SQL> select * from v$recover_file;
or
SQL> select * from v$datafile where status in ('OFFLINE', 'RECOVER', 'SYSOFF');
This must give row/rows back as result.

3. Recover and bring online datafile
SQL> recover datafile '';
SQL> alter database datafile online;

4. Re-check by execute step no 2
And it must not give row/rows back as result

It's so simple but very usefull in daily maintenance. But you must investigate further the root cause which is caused that datafile offline and need to be recovered.

Patching Oracle

That was amazing experience for me, I was first time patching oracle :). The history was starting when I found error message in bdump and cdump directory and it kept growing every time. After got solution from metalink and downloaded the patch then I began patching actvity. Please follow steps below that I've done successfully :

1. Checking the environment

And finally starting up oracle instance and enjoy the change :)

TOAD Error

I just got error message when trying to load schema browser in TOAD. Below is the detail error message :
Module : TOAD.exe
Type : EListError
Message: 43 is an invalid PageIndex value. PageIndex must be between 0 and 42

Then I remembered that previously I installed TOAD version 9.5, but after that I re-installed with the older version, that was TOAD version 9.0. This problem was caused by TOAD read the newer configuration which was not supported by the older version.

The solution for this problem is :
1. Open toad.ini under C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\User Files, please ensure you did backup first and close TOAD application.
2. Edit and delete the section [PAGEORDERS], maybe you need delete [PAGENAMES] and [PAGESHOW] also.
3. Close it and open TOAD

Now it works properly :)

How load flat file to oracle

I just know how to load flat file into oracle database. Oracle has provided us to use both of External Table and SQL Loader. The main functionality for External table is to store data from flat file to oracle database and the SQL Loader is used for load flat file data into External table. Actually for load flat file into oracle we only need SQL Loader, but using External Table is very usefull for operation purpose

Passing parameter from shell script into sql script

Today I learn something good and simple. I will create a sql script to do some of oracle statement but I will drive it from shell script. Then I will pas some parameter from shell script to sql script. Following steps are what I've done, this one only sample :

1. Create shell script as interface

Solaris reboot with no message

Yesterday I got problem, suddenly the solaris server was rebooting without any message left in /var/adm/messages. Usually all information related with system log exists inside. I also checked some log files in /var/log/sulog, /var/crash/, mail, using last command but none of those gave something.

But when I look at system messages when it's booting up then I found that some messages retrieve from LOM. Finally I got clue, I did show log message from ALOM directly with following steps :
1. Connect via ALOM
2. Type #. to change in ALOM mode
3. Type showlogs

Then the messages that I want appeared. It shows that something happen with system board therefore the server reboot abnormally.

Brainbench addict :)

This month I have addicted visit and try free test from Brainbench. Actually, If I have some spare times in my office then I take only free test and the result is not bad for the starter. But I have a preparation before taking the test by reading the book and getting help from Mr Google.

This transcript is the test that I've done, and fortunately I always passed those and the score is good enough. The next test I will take is about RHEL 5 (Redhat Enterprise Linux 5). I already got the manual book and still learning about that.

But the only thing is I cannot get certificate for free and only take free test :(. Let's see if there is some money then I will. And also I have dream to be get a Master cerfiticate, only if your score is more than 4.0 of 5.0. Currently my highest score only 3.99 :(

Firefox 3 bug ? :p

Today I get good and bad about Firefox 3. The good is I get certificate from Firefox for successfully downloading it to help set a World Record. I already put that in my desk wall :).

The bad on is a get not friendly message when access website which needs a valid certificate. Is it categorize with bug or not :P.

How to get FM2008 for free ? Ridiculous question but I think you all very need it. Please let go through :
1. Getting FM2008 from http://www.bluefame.com/index.php?showtopic=50830&hl=fm2008&st=20, you need more bandwidth to download and some of links are not valid
2. Download cd simulator, you can use Freeware from M$, Mame, or Daemon Tool, and the last is working on me
3. Install and get play :)

Shell script and awk

Vi problem on Solaris

Couple days ago I was face with vi problem on solaris. When I tried to edit a file then the error message appeared "Terminal too wide". First action was going to ask Mr Google. Finally I got the solution just type on console and then tried to open vi program again. Cool it's working properly.

bash-2.05# stty columns 120

That syntax above will set terminal columns to be 120 width. The case was closed

Oracle SQL Developer with MySQL

Now, I always use Oracle SQL Developer as a tool to maintain Oracle RDBMS. It's free instead of TOAD that I used couple years ago. But today, I try to connect MySQL Server and by default this tool complains with error message "no jdbc driver for MySQL".

Then finally I found nice article to solve that problem. How is easy that and very simple. Now I can connect to Oracle and MySQL in one tool and one time. Great work from oracle developer.

Pidgin is one for all IM

One IM tool for all, at least it supports my favourite messenger ( Yahoo and Google). With Pidgin you can communicate and chat with all your buddy either those are from yahoo or google. All buddies will appear together in one window.

There are some feature that I loved :

3. Email remainder from each account
4. and many more , I don't have much time to explore

Forget yahoo messenger, meebo , gtalk and others if you get this one.

JProfiler is good enough

Nice java profiler tool but unfortunately it is not free. One year ago, when I tried to tunning my java application I usually used jvmstats (free profiling tool from Sun) and completed with visualgc to view memory object in graphic (GUI). this tool is very useful and complete enough to tuneup your java application before put it into production environment.

Few days ago, I tried using JProfiler. It's very complex, you could see memory that java object used, CPU usage, thread usage and all of those was breakdown until method level. You could get much information which classes or methods that's consuming very high memory and detected memory leak. Finally you could snapshot the result into file and could open in any JProfiler GUI. Don't missed to try this tool since it still have trial version.

Just imagine what happens next ? interesting to wait whether they will be more "bigger" or be more "smaller". As far as I know, no doubt that Telkom is very strong in telecommunication industry will combine with Sigma which has good product in banking and telco industry. Very experienced human resource will mix together with talented young engineer. Weekend @ Bandung

Nice weekend at Bandung. Tired, happy, angry are mixed together in that moment. Beginning went to Bandung by my friend car, we arrived afternoon. After check-in in Wisma Purwasari (very bad hotel that I've seen), then following meet up with Dinda's big family. As a new member, I have to introduce my self although I felt a little bit shame.

Together with Dinda's brothers n sisters, we went to Dago Pakar to have some dinner at Lisung. Nice place to share with each other and also could see beautiful view when midnight. Once we finished then we're back to go home while I must stay at poor hotel :(.

Tomorrow, me and Dinda went to marriage party and finishing with taking photo together at Jonas. The afternoon, we're lead up to Jakarta again, the not interested big city I though

Last night, I cried because I didn't wanna hurt anyone. I kept my endless pain inside of my heart. I was regret that I was very weak, could not wake up and seeing the future.

Big Mistake

I make big mistake today. It's very shame for me and I can't believe it will make hurt someone. I just publish some documents (pictures actually) without any permission from the origin. Then someone angry and also get hurt, and she also says "you break anything". I know how the painful is, because I ever get that.

Every action that already done cannot be rollback, only regret inside of my heart. I would like to say sorry so much from deeper of my heart and I don't want to break our relationship.

The moral that I learn is you must have permission before doing something.

After very long time as a fan of RSS Feed Reader client, beginning one week ago I switched to RSSOwl client. There are following some reasons that make me happy use it (at least supporting feature that I want) :
1. This application is created using Java under Eclipse RCP
2. Good look and feel
3. Very user friendly (ease to use)
4. Has import and export feature (synchronizing with existing rss list)
5. Supports multipage on tabs (Feed Reader doesn't)

Eclipse beats Netbeans in RCP application

I've got bad luck with Netbeans platform when I tried to create Rich Client Platform (RCP) application under that platform. Very lack tutorial, very hard configuration and very difficult to learn about the architecture. No good book that covers all of functionalities, I only found this link, http://platform.netbeans.org/, to create RCP from scratch and finally I was surrender and very struggle.

Now I am very satisfied with Eclipse RCP platform. There are many tutorials, good books, and also very nice design inside this technology. Just following step by step from the book and continues with implementing I feel how easy to create RCP with eclipse. Very simple and very rational able for beginner like me.

I am really like eclipse now, and also always using it in my java development. I think Netbeans needs more enhancement to compete with eclipse.

From Marina to Ragunan

Very pleasant weekend :). Beginning travel to Ancol to go to Pulau Seribu, but unfortunately we was late because the boat already departed. Moving to another plan that was just staying at Pantai Marina, enjoying the view (to be honest very bad view :( ), and having lunch together till sunset. Very nice and tireness.

Observer pattern

Yesterday, I got stuck with JMS implementation. Why the JMS didn't listen properly to get asynchronous messages. When I take a look inside the code, then I guess the problem in the listener function. I have read some pattern and I know that Observer pattern is more likely Listener. Suddenly the f***ing thought stuck in my head. I felt really painful and hatred. If I could I would like to erase all of old memories of us. I could not life like that, even with or without you. I know you never let me go nowhere and to be honest I do so. You always said that we would together forever and you're always comfort with me, oh it's really so sweet but the reality was different in my mind. Comment Feature is Now Available For You Again

Very important feedback from radhia when she was trying to submit a comment in my blog. There was an error message and unfortunately I didn't know the real problem. The fastest way to solve is upgrade my blog with new template from blogspot. Finally the result is good enough and I'm satisfied about it. Looking a part-time servant

Almost one week (more or less) I have been living in my house. To be honest I am very comfort to stay in that place. But one thing that I still hate until now, that is cleaning the house :(. Basically I am very lazy to clean and tidy up but in other side I don't like my house seems dirty, especially after rainy. Huh it's really suck. And the fact that I couldn't depend on Dinda, which only comes on weekend, to help me.

Now I am looking a servant to decrease my burden, no matter how many times she will come and work. At least I have one objective, my house always keeps clean and nice after I am back from office. Hopefully I'll find soon with cheap salary :P. If you all want to, just let me know he4x

Last weekend was very tiredness day for me and my wife. We did clean up my new house and prepared some stuff to fill the space. But likely, the space still looks empty , coz I have only small stuff for it :).

Tomorrow night I will be completed move and will begin to stay in my new house. Hopefully I will comfort and happy with that.

One day with special and unforgettable moments. It's all about me and her. Beginning at the morning, we have "sahur" together. Continue with daily activities, We went to office together with my motor cycle :). By end of the work , We meet again to go back to her house. Once we arrived we have "buka" together and finally we have "sholat jamaah".

It was really beautiful moment that I've ever had. How nice it is if I can spent all my time with her like these. Sooner I am sure I will do.

Following my previous posting , I've four house locations as alternative. Those are Mahagoni Park (Bintaro), Graha Cinere, Bukit Griya Cinere and Delta Residence (Ciputat). In this weekend I'll be doing survey again for those last three locations. Finally, I'll create the comparison between them and choose the best house for me.

Note : It's very difficult to find nice house with less price :(

Hopefully it's not only has nice looking but it also has beautiful inside. Then I will visit Houses Expo at Balai Kartini to get some alternative for buying houses. After I was idle for a moment , I am ready again to continue my hobby writing my blog. My Journey in UK – Part 9

I was back like child again when I went to Edinburgh Zoo at 2nd January. For your information, this zoo is one of famous International zoo around the world. There are many unique animals collection which other zoo hasn't. I spent around 1 hour in here and I enjoyed with that. Some of animals made me interesting because I haven't seen before like : Penguin, Jaguar, Red Panda and Wolverine. I was surprise when I knew Wolverine is not a wolf but rather look like combination between cat and bear. With good environment, comfortable and safe place, I thought Indonesian zoo should follow to be acknowledge as International zoo. So, If you stay in Edinburgh , don't miss it.

Three days at London was very good. My mission to visit the places that I missed before almost accomplished. I also went to Nottingham to see Robin Hood's castle. There were following places that I've visited :

1. Tour inside Chelsea' stadium. The most expensive price and most visitor for stadium tour that I've visited.

2. Arsenal's stadium (Emirates Stadium). Unfortunately I couldn't get tour ticket because the tour has closed for maintenance.

3. Westminster Abbey

4. Robin Hood's castle (Nottingham). It's very nice place and I thought it looks like a beautiful garden rather than a fortress.

5. Museum People Life (Nottingham)

6. Ye Olde Trip To Yerusalem (Nottingham) is the oldest inn in England

7. National Ice Centre (Nottingham). I could see the ice stadium in England and there were many expert player was playing hockey and ice dance.

8. Botanical Garden (Nottingham). It's very nice place to take a rest and felt clean air for a while.

9. London Tower. The greatest fortress that I've seen. I could know history of United Kingdom and I could learn about UK King/Queen. There are several main building in here, and the best for me is Jewelery House. Inside here, I saw King/Queen chair, crown, armor, horse, weapon, but it didn't allow to take picture.

10. Greenwich is prime zero meridian of the world at Royal Observatory.

I took holiday for 2 weeks so I could go and travel anywhere that I wanted. My first journey begun at 27th of December , on Christmas and Boxing day the transportation was closed, to go Stirling. I just only went to William Wallace Monument and Bridge of Allan. The monument is good and very historic. You can see and take picture of William Wallace's Sword and also can climb to the top of monument that it's almost 248 steps. About Bridge of Allan, this place is very good , but unfortunately I didn't get further interesting in here.

Edinburgh for second times at 28th December. I was aware that I missed many nice places before and finally I have visited most of them. The another best place that I found was The Palace of Holyroodhouse. This place is second palace for Her Majesty of Queen Elizabeth after The Buckingham Palace and The Palace for Mary Queen of Scots. But I still missed to visit Edinburgh Zoo because I didn't have much time. As follow were the places that I visited in Edinburgh :

1. The Palace of Holyroodhouse and Queen Gallery

2. St. Gilles Cathedral

3. Museum of Scotland

4. The Scottish Parliament (not came inside)

5. John Knox house (not came inside)

6. Royal Botanic Garden

7. Edinburgh Harbor

29th December was a bad day in my traveling, because the whether was very bad, the transportation wasn't good enough and the most bad luck was my digital camera broken. Where was that place ? Loch Lomond :(. By the way in my opinion Loch Lomond is really nice place to see beautiful view and panorama. There are Loch Lomond Shore, Gateway Centre to The Trossach National Park, Sea Life Aquarium and still have many places that I haven't reached yet. If you're real hiker or backpacker, I recommend to visit and stay for several days in this place. And also this place is little near with Glasgow, it's around 45 minutes from City Centre.

Long traveling using private car at 30th December, it's almost 9 hours on street and just only 1.5 hours took a rest and visited some places. Starting from my flat at Bridge of Weir, I would go to Inverness city. For your information, Inverness has motto that is “Inverness is the best small city in the world”. I departed use following route : Glasgow City Centre – Loch Lomond – Crianlarich – Fort William – Loch Ness – Inverness. When I returned use other route : Inverness – Perth – Stirling – Glasgow City Centre. I saw many good places along trip especially for Highland area.

● Crianlarich, there's good panorama around. After here you can continue to Fort William or Oban (Some people said this is good place but I haven't visited yet)

● Fort William, it should be many attractions in summer like Jacobby Steam Train (Harry Potter) and Cable Car Nevis Range. Unfortunately, I went in winter so there weren't no attractions anymore :(

● Between Fort William and Inverness, I could see best view of mountain that's covered by snow. This place are known Highland Area.

● Urquhart Castle in Loch Ness. This is one of the best castle attractions in Scotland. So I've visited all of the best castle in here, there are Edinburgh Castle, Stirling Castle and Urquhart Castle.

Inverness is good city but I couldn't much enjoy because that was rain

Hello Manchester, I'm coming. I have spent 2 days at Manchester and actually this city is very good for modern activities like shopping, entertainment, sports. There are many places to doing those activities, so if you wanna see ancient places this place isn't recommended. But the most important thing to do in here is see and come inside Manchester United Stadium, the biggest football stadium in UK. I had new experience that stayed 1 night at the youth hostel, a cheap hotel for backpacker purpose and also share room with other people, also known as bed and breakfast. For your information, the transportation in here is good. You can use tram, train, or bus to reach all places. That was easier than Glasgow but a little bit harder than London. There are list of modern places that you must visit in Manchester (based on my listing :p):

1. Manchester United ,Theater of Dream, stadium, I took stadium and museum tour and that was very great

2. Old Trafford's Town Hall, you can just take picture while pass it before stadium

3. All these places that near with St Peter's Square Tram station : Manchester Central Library, Town Hall, The Bridgewater Hall, Gmex Centre, Manchester International CConvention Centre and Manchester Art Galleries

4. Urbis (Modern Museum) and Manchester Cathedral are near with Victoria station

5. The Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester

6. Manchester City Stadium, It's also great for me because it's just only me that took the tour so it's like a private tour :p

7. Trafford Centre, It's very very big shopping mall that I've ever seen before

8. The lorry and Imperial War Museum, I missed all of these

The another thing was I found Mosque in Manchester and finally I could pray to my GOD in Mosque at first time for I've been in UK. And don't forget to be carefully in Manchester, because there is the gay village near with chorlton bus/coach station :).

Stirling, one of good city in Scotland, was my next destination. In here I've planned to visit Stirling Castle, the second best castle after Edinburgh Castle. This castle is smaller than Edinburgh has, but The King and Queen of Scotland chose this castle for favorite place to stay. There are palace building and cathedral inside this castle. After that, I went to Argryll's lodging where The Earl of Argryll stayed for long long time ago. Continued to Old Town Jail, scary place for me :), was the prison on 18th century. I also look for Stirling Old Bridge. But There is one missed place , there is William Wallace Monument. And I will go there to see the monument of Scotland Guardian

That was the busiest weekend for me. I was really tired after done some of Christmas parties. Beginning on Friday, there was developer lunch till evening. Continued with drink party together with development and deployment at pub till midnight. Then me and some of people joined private party at Bamboo, the club in Glasgow, till morning. After I took a rest for a day then I prepared to go my company Christmas Party on Saturday night. That party started at 7 pm until midnight. There was something special for my experience because I meet almost all my company employees and I could get some stories for them. So, that weekend I absolutely not traveled and fortunately the weather was too bad to hang out.

Two days I spent my time to go to museums and Paisley town. Kelvingrove museum has many collections (almost 8000 collections) from ancient things, fossil and also galleries. If you're in Glasgow, I recommend to don't forget visit this museum. The second museum that I've visited was Museum of Transport. In here , you'll get vehicle collections from several years ago. You'll see steam train, old bus, old car, old bike and also old motor cycle. Therefore you can see the history of transportation vehicles.

There was nothing special in Paisley ( because it's just only a town) , except for museum, town hall and cathedral. And I also could not enjoy because in that day there was rainy.

My weekend journey continued to Edinburgh, The Capital of Scotland. I went together with my manager from Indonesia and the trip from Glasgow-Edinburgh took 1 hour by bus. In my opinion Edinburgh has better whether compare with Glasgow, there was not too cold and not rain :).

There were list of nice places at Edinburgh :
1. Edinburgh Castle , the best Castle in Scotland and absolutely amazing
2. The Scott Monument, I've already got a certificate after climbed 287 steps to the top of Scot Monument
3. Some of museums (not yet for all)
4. Edinburgh zoo (not yet also)

On Sunday, I also took a tour around Glasgow. There were many nice places at Glasgow especially for museum, science and entertainment

The second week I went to London, the biggest and the busiest city in UK, by bus. There was almost 8 hours long travel and finally I stayed at Wisma Merdeka (owned by Indonesian just for Indonesian) for 17.5 pounds / night (that was very cheap for bed and breakfast, might be the cheapest one in London). I had 2 days for traveling around London and I was really enjoyed because there were good and easy transportation like London Underground which covered almost all areas in London.

There were the places that I've already visited :

2. Buckingham Palace
3. Big Ben
4. London Eye (The longest admission queue that I've ever seen)
5. Wembley Stadium (not came inside because it's being renovation)

7. London Tower (not came inside and I'll try for second chance)

9. Greenwich ( still not found where zero degree is, and still believe will find for second chance)
10. Chelsea's Stadium (not came inside because the time already 5pm)

This was my first journey at Glasgow, Scotland. On weekend, I went to Glasgow city center just to look the busiest city in Scotland. Most Scottish hang out for refreshing after worked in weekday. Almost hundred people walked, spoke each other , and just sit down for a coffee or a cake. I also watched movies at Cineworld (The highest cinema building in the world). I remembered those movies were Saw III and The Prestige. In my opinion Saw III was very disappointed because it was less spectator. But for The Prestige, I really recommended for you all.

First Work Day at Glasgow

Today my first day working at Head Office of my company. After come to office then I introduce myself to other members. After I have announcement that I join to development team , I am very happy. Then my leader give me an architecture and some point to get my new work. Fortunatelly, he's very nice person and have good communication to me.

Lunch session is free for me and again the portion is unbelievable (very big portion). Actually I just take main course, how do you think if I am also take appertizer and desert :).

The work time is exactly 8 hours working day. I leave office at 5 o'clock and arrive at home at 5.15. I go out for a while to buy some stuffs beacuse I already get some money from finance's people. It's time for shooping some stuffs and I spend my money more than 30 pounds. It's just for buying toothpaste, shampoo, soap etc. I am not forget to buy food for dinner and I choose to buy at Indian's restorant. 16 pounds for lamb ala indian, it's very good taste compare with Scotland's food (without any taste). Then doing some talk with my flat mate around 1 hour and finnaly before I sleep I write down my own blog and watch my favourite anime "Naruto". Because I'm missed almost 20 episodes from 190 until 209.

I hope the next day will be nicer and be better for me. And I have a nice plan for 2 weeks later, that goes to London :)).

Long and Tireness Trip

Two days ago at saturday I have begun long trip from Jakarta to Glasgow. My plane departed at 22.00 in Indonesia's Time. There are severals transit place for my plane (Emirates), Jakarta - Kuala Lumpur - Dubai - Glasgow. Almost 20 hours I was in the plane. It's very tireness for me, but when I have arrived at Glasgow my spirit has appeared again.

After accompanied by my friend to the my flat, then we go out all of a day. I have to go to some place to lunch and shooping. FYI, I bought KFC for 3.99 pounds to get 5 chicks and 1 softdrink. Really expensive and too big portion for Indonesian people. But I remembered that was one of the smallest package which is sold in here. I just think the portion of Scotland :p

We back to home using bus, I saw there was really tidy and easy transportation. All of bus have fixed schedule time and we can stop at every place with "Bus Stop" symbol. I paid 2.5 pounds to go my flat at Brigde Of Weir. I felt the weather was very cold for me, It's 10 celcius :(.

After arrived at flat home, the I ordered some foods for dinner. I ordered from Chinesse food restorant, because I must be carefully to buy foods in here, too may ham seller. For all my order I paid almost 12 pounds, finally I slept without comfortable :(. That's my first day in Glasgow.

Yesterday, Nicky Hayden won his first motoGP championship. This broken off Vallentino Rossi's hegemony in motoGP class. I belived that Rossi is unbeatable but he lose by himself, with high preasure the holder couldn't handled this game. He slipped down from his motor, althougth he could continue until finish but the game was over. Hayden deserved this title because he gave all his ability to beat Rossi. Really unlucky day for Mr Valle "Lucky Man" Rossi. Congrats for Hayden.

But different result goes to AC Milan which was beaten by their rival, Inter Milan. As a fan of AC Milan, I thought this was Carlo Ancelloti's mistake. The strategy was very poorly and no creativity by this coach. But I was really happy with all AC Milan's player which are given the best performance and work hard to reach a win. But until final whistle , Inter won this match and deserved it. Ancelloti still have too much home work to make AC Milan better and the best, If he cannot prove it, I think fired him will be the best decision for Management.

High-Tense MotoGP

I wanna say congrat to Mr Valentinno "Lucky" Rossi who finally got first-rank-championship rider. But the game isn't not over man, he must give all of his power to get the champion at last grand prix. Althought I am not a fans of neither Rossi nor Hayden, but I wish Hayden will be a champion in this season. Because my reason is I am like a challenger instead of a holder.

I am also will give "Golden Knob" award to Dani Pedrosa, althought I am a fan of him. With "kamikaze" action, now Hayden have very hard burden to get his first championship. But actually I am very like with Dani's performace in this season and of course with younger age and with brilian talent I believe in next season he will give push harder to the holder. So no one doubt that he choose as Rookie in his first motoGP class.

The amazing performance has been shown by Toni Ellias who finished in first podium. From other Rookies (Stonner and Pedrosa) only Toni who is never got podium before. But finally, at Estoril he deserved to get it. The unforgotten action is he always use sliding-style to catch up the leader. I believe if he can hold on current his performance , it's possible he will call "King of Sliding". As far as I know currently only Gary McCoy hold this nickname

OK, The last grand prix at Valencia will determine who will be a champion. Let's see, what will be doing by Rossi, Hayden and Dani. Very very high-tense MotoGP season

Trying busy in idle time :)

At these several days, I write down a journal in my blog frequently. Yes, currently I often in idle at office. Almost 2 weeks without new job and every day just doing transfer knowledge to my friends who will take all of my responsible since I go to head office.

Then I tried some java technology in my free time, I have explore how to access Scanner and Web Camera device via Java. Horay, I 'd like to thank to all java developer in the world, because they already created some utility class to support those exercises :p. FYI, to connect scanner device via Java you can refer to these following articles :

As additional you can also follow the milestone of JTwain Project . Because it's relative new so currently you can't get the real implementation from it :(. Please be patient bro.

The second exercise is I used JMF (Java Media Framework) to connect, access and capture from Web Camera device via Java. It's very really simple, just install JMF library , then register device using JMFRegistry and create SwingCapture class . Finnally, it's done and working properly. FYI, I used webcam from logitech family , and I am not guarantee for another webcam brand will be running OK in JMF.

I am very happy because I can still doing my hobby in my busy work :p. I hope this article will give some benefits for other java developer.

Preparing to Management Master

I am always believe that to be successfull as an employee you can't only rely on your technical skill. It's also need some soft skill like management, administration, speaking etc. To be that, I have plan to take Master course at Indonesia , maybe I'll take Management (please praying for me :p) in next year. Then after reading an article on Joel on Software , Reading List: Fog Creek Software Management Training Program, I am re-thinking again and little bit shame with the knowledge that I have now. There so many recommended-book by Joel which I haven't read before, preciselly almost all of the books :p. Fortunally I have read the one book "Applied Cryptography" as reference in my final project.

So I have short plan to read those books possible I can, before I take Management Master. Does anyone get same problem like me ? Let's share to me :p. And I hope I can spend my day in other country to do this.

Funny Accident

Two days ago, I slipped and fallen from my motor cycle. After dinner together with sister then I go back to my house. When I was on the way , the whether is somewhat rainy. Although i tried drive carefully, suddently my motor cycle's tire slipped because the road was slick. Before I fallen down, I remembered I though ridiculous some words "If She were mine". Finally I lay down on the road, but fortunatelly I was OK. Nothing serious injured just a little bit scratch in my finger.

But followed with my accident , I saw a funny accident again. It's not happen again to me but it's happen to someone. Exactly it's a little boy who slipped and fallen down too like me.

So, I would like to give an advice .. Please be carefull when you drive motor cycle in the rain. Believe me !!

5 Ways to Contribute to Open Source Projects Without Coding

Maybe you've seen many good Open Source projects that are no longer maintained. One of the many reasons for that may be lack of contribution. In fact, there are many one-man projects out there. Most of any program's users are just that, users, not developers. Nevertheless, average users still can contribute to Open Source programs to make them better.

I made a search for ways to contribute before writing this and I didn't find much. However, I found two very good articles: "How to Contribute to Open Source Without Coding" and "HOWTO Pay for Free Software". These articles explain how to contribute to Open Source. I summarize the information in this post, with a little info added by me.

Contribute quality: help to make a better project, better looking and with new features

Submit bug reports
Suggest new features and options
Suggest ways to improve the framework (maybe comparing it to similar OS or comercial projects)
Submit some artwork (icons, backgrounds, logos) to use in the program
Correct spelling and grammar mistakes in documentation
Help maintain a web site for an Open Source project

Contribute documentation: Some Open Source projects have a poor or insufficient documentation

Holiday Road Map

Hmm several days ago were tireless holiday. Almost 4 days I am at Bandung doing walking arround to refresh my mind. After I arrived at Thursday, at night I go to Dago. At first I came to Gramedia, I looked for Dan Brown's book. My target book is "Deception Point" , but I only got "Digital Fortress" bacause the first book was sale out. The second book that I got was "The Google Story", my friend recommended to me about this book. Then I dropped in KFC for dinner and finally at Barcode to play my favourite game , "Bilyard" :p. I go home with problem because in Bandung is very hard to find good taxy likes in Jakarta and Unfortunatelly there isn't "angkot" to Dayeuh Kolot at night. But with patient , finally I arrived at my friend's home.

The second day I go out at Selasar Sunaryo (Dago Atas) to watch Jazzsphere. This place is very cool and elegant, there are many artfull things in here. The jazz event was begun by ImamPras quartet. They played Indonesian Independence Song with their arrangement. They played with guest singer, Dira Yulianti who will be Incognito main singer !! (Cool) . That's very impressive. Then followed by Tommorow People Ensemble, one of my favourite band, with modern jazz style. Too many noise and combine with industry music style makes this music more like trans jazz. And finally, The Jazz Master which contains experience player was playing softer song. So , I am little bit sleepy. But the arrangement was very calm and cool.

The last day I spent all my time to "FO Safari". Found out good shirts, good jackets and anything that I thought good for me. Almost full day I was walking from Riau until Setyabudi. But It's not bad for me because I got some pieces of good shirt :). Then the tommorw day I was back to Jakarta to begin work again.

The conclusion is these were nice holiday, but there is something that i missed. What is it ? I failed to meet her, because she was very busy. I know it , Journalist would be the most busy person in the world. Just My humble opinion.

Ridiculousness Relationship

This story was very stanger for me, I take it from my best friend story. Again and again this story is about love. I don't want to describe how the details but I will just to show you about a stranger relationship.

My best friend was in relationship just around 3 month. The stranger behaviour is they are never meet each other between beginning of relationship until ending of relationship. It seems very sad and bad for us, but this is true happened. They are starting relationship by phone, and keep romanctic communication also via phone. But finnaly , their relationship was broken with unkown reason. Unfortunatelly, the relationship was finished also via phone.

Really really simple and ridiculousness relationship for me. What do you think about it ?

Where are you go on holiday

POHON

Orang2 memanggilku "POHON" karena aku sangat baik dalam menggambar
pohon. AKU selalu menggunakan gambar pohon pada sisi kanan sebagai
trademark pada semua lukisanku.
AKU telah berpacaran sebanyak 5 kali.
Ada satu wanita yang sangat AKU cintai, tapi AKU tidak punya keberanian
untuk mengatakannya.
Dia tidak cantik, tidak memiliki tubuh yang sexy. Dia sangat peduli
dengan orang lain, religius, tapi.. dia hanya wanita biasa saja.
AKU menyukainya, sangat menyukainya..
Gayanya yang innocent dan apa adanya, kemandiriannya, kepandaiannya dan
kekuatannya.
Alasan AKU tidak mengajaknya kencan karena,
AKU merasa dia sangat biasa dan tidak serasi untukku.
AKU takut jika kami bersama semua perasaan yang indah ini akan hilang.
AKU takut kalau gosip2 yang ada akan menyakitinya.
AKU merasa dia adalah "sahabatku".

sebelumnya - CEMBURU.
Perasaan di hati ini tidak bisa digambarkan dengan menggunakan Lemon.

Akhirnya, AKU sadar bahwa AKU tidak ingin memberikan Angin ini ruang
yang kecil di hatiku.
AKU tau Angin akan membawa pergi Daun yang lusuh jauh dan ketempat yang
lebih baik.
Akhirnya AKU meninggalkan Pohon.
Tapi Pohon hanya tersenyum dan tidak memintaku untuk tinggal.
AKU sangat sedih memandangnya tersenyum ke arahku.

ANGIN

AKU menyukai seorang gadis bernama Daun.
Karena dia sangat bergantung pada Pohon, jadi aku harus menjadi ANGIN
yang kuat.
Angin akan meniup Daun terbang jauh.
Ketika itu, dia selalu duduk disana sendirian atau dengan teman2nya
memerhatikan Pohon.
Ketika Pohon berbicara dengan gadis2, ada cemburu di matanya.
Ketika Pohon melihat ke arah Daun, ada senyum di matanya.
Memperhatikannya menjadi kebiasaanku. Seperti daun yang suka melihat
Pohon. Satu hari saja tak kulihat dia, AKU merasa sangat kehilangan.
Di sudut ruang itu, ku lihat pohon sedang memperhatikan daun.
Air mengalir di mata daun ketika Pohon pergi.
Esoknya, Ku lihat Daun di tempatnya yang biasa, sedang memperhatikan

Hati Daun sangat kuat dan Angin tidak bisa meniupnya pergi, hal itu
karena Daun tidak mau meninggalkan Pohon.
AKU melihat kearahnya, kuhampiri dengan kata2 itu.
Sangat pelan, dia mulai membuka dirinya dan menerima kehadiranku dan
telponku.
AKU tau orang yang dia cintai bukan AKU. Tapi AKU akan berusaha agar
suatu hari dia menyukaiku.
Selama 4 bln, AKU telah mengucapkan kata Cinta tidak kurang dari 20x
kepadanya.
Hampir tiap kali dia mengalihkan pembicaraan tapi AKU tidak menyerah.
Keputusanku bulat, AKU ingin memilikinya dan berharap dia akan setuju
menjadi pacarku.
Aku bertanya di telepon," apa yang kau lakukan? Kenapa kau tidak pernah
membalas? Mengapa kau selalu membisu?"
Dia berkata, "AKU menganggukkan kepalaku."

Time to choose again

In this week, my mind is very crowded and full with some future thinkings. I need to make a decision whether I'm still stay in my current company or move on again. Of cource I have some points of advantage and disavantage for each company I will choose. This is not about money, but this is about the environment. The one will give me a chance to work in overseas and give more knowledge about IT. But the second will give me good career path and I'm also can learn a new business process for me. There is difference core business between them, Telco vs Banking. My current experience is Finance in 1 year and also Telco in 1 year too, so Banking will be new environment for me and Fortunatelly I like some challenges.

But making decision is not easy, especially it's about my future. Maybe end of this week I should have the decision result for this. So, I need take a rest in Bandung to clear my mind and make final right decision. No matter what the final decision, I will take it and will do it with my best. Hopefully , My future will be better and nicer.

Yeah, I'm Go Kart rookie

Again and again, my company was held outing event as two-monthly refreshing event. In this event, go kart was chosen and FYI I’m very loudly to push my company's management played it together, because go kart failed arrange in previous outing event.

Go kart was most wanted thing by my company's folks and I’m very happy with that. But this was my first time in car-racing seat especially go kart seat. I just prove that i can be a racer and will race like my hero "Juan Pablo Montoya" :p, racing with brave and talent. Following stories would describe what i can do as a go kart racer.

At first round, with 4 my friends, I used go kart car number 57. As beginner, while warming up lap I got an accident :(. Because of too much collision with my friend's car so I got warning from go kart's steward to use brake and accelerate proportional to prevent an accident again. Race was beginning, with all of my power I got fifth best lap time between 15 racer. I thought it was not bad for beginner like me.

Second round was better for me, because my best lap time counted in big three. The next round, I almost got better performance than before. And finally I have proved what I can do, was using go kart car number 99, I got my best lap time and fortunately it was best lap time for all of racer :). Yes, I can prove that I can be a racer and I deserved it. Later my folks given to me "Rookie" label.

This go kart event was finishing with champagne party at “flubber” cafe. My folks almost got intoxicated because too many drunk vodka and wine :p. I thought this event very interesting performance and finishing. Thanks folks, let's up out company.

Which is better , CRM Desktop or CRM Web ?

During work on my company which focuses on CRM, I have an idea to build with my own architecture and technology. Of course, I choose to use Java platform because it's platform independent. But , currently I have problem to choose the application-based beetwen desktop-based or web-based. Both of them have advantage and disadvantage each other. The first is richer because based on component tools which are really simple to develop, but the big problem is connectivity with database. Do you know about 2 tier application which is just separate application into 2 layer, presentation and database layer. To many cases need to be futher analyst, just example is database connectivity dan pooling. But those problems can solve with web-based application. The only thing when we choose web-based application is to hard to develop and the presentation is poor than desktop application. Yes if in desktop you can use Rich Client Platform (RCP) , in web you can use Rich Internet Application (RIA). But you must know that RIA in Java can solve with Java Webstart that in my mind it's just only same thing with desktop application. The difference is only need update from server or not. Does anyone of you have any suggestion ? Of course I will appreciate if you can give suggestion in CRM case. Because CRM application will use in internal and external interaction.

XMMS on Fedora Core 4

I've had installed Fedora Core 4 in my notebook, together with WindowsXP. FYI, the type of my notebook is Compaq EVO N800W, very high specification and performance :) although it has old type. That was really common disappointment on Fedora Core 4, the most usefully application is not installed by default, it was XMMS. Maybe you're agree with me about that because we cannot work comfortably without the music, and the most really suck again was Fedora Core 4 CDs not included XMMS application. But you don't be affraid, we can do install manually from rpm packages which are distributed on many Linux sites. There are following minimal rpm packages that i got to installing XMMS application properly :

xmms-1.2.10-19.fc4.i386.rpm // the core of xmms application
xmms-mp3-1.2.10-13.2.fc4.i386.rpm // plug-in module for xmms to play mp3 files
xmms-skins-1.2.10-13.i386.rpm // minimal skin for xmms GUI
xmms-wma-1.0.5-1.2.fc4.i386.rpm // optional, only if you will play wma files
mikmod-devel-3.1.6-35.FC4.i386.rpm // development module for play soundtracking on linux
mikmod-3.1.6-35.FC4.i386.rpm // library module for play soundtracking on linux

After you got it, then executed them with rpm command :

To run XMMS, just type "xmms" (without double quote) on command line interface or run menu at KMenu. Now , you can enjoy work on Linux with playing your favorite music :-), but there is some noise in music sound and the linux sound quality not as good as windows sound. So,until now i still confused why linux is not good for entertainment program, especially audio and video :(. D'you can answer that ?

Hard Rock Cafe - Jakarta

Last week, precisely at Friday night, my company held outing event at Hard Rock cafe. This place was just second alternative before, the first we would play go-cart but unfortunately it was cancelled because the Jakarta's weather was often rainy. So, dinner at Hard Rock café and followed with playing bowling were the best choice. This was the first time for me came to Hard Rock café and I thought this place is very glamour and prestigious for ordinary boy like me :-). The foods are almost very expensive, for example: you must pay min twenty thousand rupiahs just for soft drink, and hmm min one hundred and fifty thousand rupiahs for some foods. Then I just ordered soft drink, I little bit remembered the name is "Pierre xxx", instead of my friends who ordered martini, beer and some alcoholic drink :(. As you know, that my ordered soft drink was not special, it just a mineral drink like soda or aqua. Because of it just from different producer (foreign producer) then the price is very expensive. But I was very impressed when I ordered lamb chop steak, tender meat, sweet tempered, and of course with high price. That event will be reminded for me forever, the most glamour place which I visited until now for just only to eat and talk. Yes it is good quality place for the rich people who will throw theirs money. Believe me!!.

Yesterday i was 24 years old. So many congrats from my family, my best friends, my dream girl :-), my house mate, my company friends and of cource from someone may dislike or hate me. But there are so many party too and as you know i already have three times for it. But i thought it was normally and doesn't matter for me , because they deserved to got it and may someday i need their help. So, for creating close relationship is better than diclosing. First Time Install on Solaris

Continuing with my scarab problems, I explain in my article before that I had successfully cheated to make clean compile scarab installationJ. But there are many problems again before scarab can be running up. I think it’s caused by solaris OS L which known as one of the best OS but with complex configuration. FYI, there are some synonyms name within solaris, some people sometimes called sunOS or just Solaris.

Regarding manual installation of scarab, it explains that scarab need requirement database server (mostly using MySQL server) with version 4.0 or up. Currently in my sunOS just running MySQL 3.23, it’s very oldest hah? So you’re right, I must install the new one. Wow , this is my first time install a software on Solaris. First I go to www.sunfreeware.com to get MySQL installer. Then i follow step by step rule install howto (there are coming from many articles and communities), what I am doing is nothing more than just follow it . So in my opinion, installing on solaris is not so easy and not difficult too. You just to know what the error messages are, then you should search the answer by google aid or solve by your experience. The most important thing is I am very enjoying work with Solaris although in daily working I still use Windows. Because of with big community you will never lost an answer for your problem. Trust me bro !!, today my scarab is running up on sunOS 5.8 , aka Solaris 8.

How long a Java Class Name length?

I have found some strange behaviour in Java. Today, I failed to install scarab in sunOS 5.8, but last day I had succefully install on windows OS (wow that's why widows is more interesting :)). Because i am a fighter so i am not give in that condition. With my experience on ant builder tool then i checked one by one the error messages. What i found ? javac compiler cannot clean compile because some of java codes are not imported properly. But IMO, those codes are right on. Then google in action, i search all about keyword that are appropriate with error messages. Finally, I know those errors are caused the long limitation of java class name, hmm i am jugde java is bad for this condition. FYI, java class name is limited until 71 character, there included package_name+class_name. But it will run properly in windows , why ? because windows separate package and class name, windows just know package only as directory, so we will never create java class name with more that 71 chars length, right ?. All of above are first answer for this problem. There is second answer that's coming from my friend in JUG milist. He said, this problem is not caused from java instead of from Operating System. Every OS have different behaviour for supporting file name (in that case for java class name), so older OS maybe have capability to support shorter file name length. Until now i am still confusing about those answers. But what i do is how to make scarab is running properly in sunOS, I make a little cheat by copying all of scarab's java classes from windows into sunOS. And it makes run, he4x this is an advantage of java ... Multi platform languange !!

Design Pattern : Singleton vs Monostate

Dari dahulu bingung kenapa ada orang menggunakan Singleton dan Monostate, dulunya aku pikir sama karena behaviournya juga hampir sama. Kemudian cari sana sini eh akhirnya ketemu juga penjelasannya. Intinya sih masalah state, jadi klo mau statenya dibawa kemana-mana katakanlah kayak global object yang statenya berubah dan perlu menyimpan kondisi state terakhir maka lebih tepat menggunakan Singleton. Tapi klo cuman pengen share variable antar object maka bisa pake Monostate, biasanya untuk Global Constant. Sebagai tambahan masalah transparasi juga berbeda dimana Monostate lebih transparan dibanding Singleton karena bisa langsung akses variblenya sedangkan Singleton harus mendapatkan instance terlebih dahulu sebelum pake variablenya ( konsep encapsultation). Tapi ga tau ya masalah performansi ?

Selamat datang 2006, semoga tahun ini bisa menjadikanku lebih dewasa, wise, bravery, dan lebih banyak rejeki tentunya. Amien...

Setelah berpindah2 tempat tahun baru, akhirnya baru kemarin yang bener2 enjoy banget tapi capek :p. Perjalanan pesta taon baruku, 2002 - Kesunyian di dayeuh kolot, 2003 - gasibu, 2004 kuningan jabar, 2005 - dago. Ya karena selama di bandung belum pernah taon baru di dago, kemarin sampe nyempetin datang dari jakarta sama temen2 cuman buat rayainnya. Taon ini di dago lebih rapi dari biasanya , meskipun ramenya sih masih tetep. Kenapa pilih bandung, soalnya di Jakarta banyak teror bom :(.

Sampe bandung jam 7 malem, trus dinner together di burangrang sampe jam 8 lebih. Dari jam 8 berangkat ke dago sampe sama jam 10 an, kebanyang deh macetnya :p. Karena ga ada planning acara, maka secara spontan adain acara the most wanted dari pesertanya, "bilyard" di barcode. Dan emang ga salah karena environmentnya keren, maka kita maenya juga keren , bahkan bisa dibilang sangat keren, terutama aku , pukulannya hampir masuk terus :).

Sengaja sewa sampe sebelum jam 12, dan pas tengnya kita keluar, kembang api menyala dimana, seru, di photo, di videoin, teriak-teriak, ketawa - tawa, saling ngucapin selamat taon baru dan tentunya make a private wish. Beberapa jam menikmati pesta taon baru , sampe pulang2 lupa pada mo tidur dimana. He4x akhirnya aku dan sebagain temen2 tidur dimobil. Tapi bener2 lumayan lho, ga dingin n lumayan nyaman.

Minggu, prepare balik ke jakarta, tapi mampir buat cari gitar, dapet gitar "Samick ST9" murah meriah, moga2 ini bisa memberi manfaat dan inspirasi buat aku di taon ini dan masa mendatang. Ke jakarta bawa oleh2 brownies kukus ala bandung buat anak2 kantor, eh ternyata lumayan enak ya :P. Bener2 awal taon yang menyenangkan, semoga sepanjang taon 2006 juga menyenangkan pula.

Crazy Things at Sunday Midnight

Hari sabtu malem abis capek ngajar Java n coba prepare buat ngajar besoknya, eh ada temen yang ngajakin pesta farewell. Idenya sih spontan aja, ya namanya temen harus donk kita terima ajakanya terutama masalah makan2 :p. Temen gw rencananya mo jadi branch manager Astra Credit Company di Tangerang, keren banget deh. So tengah malem akhirnya berangkat juga, dan emang di jalan lagi rame soalnya pas malem natal juga.

Ya biasalah ada acara makan2 n nonton, but karena bioskop untuk yang midnight udah selesai akhirnya batal deh nontonnya. Secara ga sengaja ketemu temennya temenku, nah dia tuh DJ n pas lagi manggung, so kita diajaknya dugem. Tapi lagi2 ada problem , soalnya kita pada pake sendal, so ga boleh masuk ama penjaganya. Makanya ini pengalaman, laen kali pake sepatu klo keluar2 malem :)). Banyak rencana gagal n jam baru jam 3 pagi, so kita muter2 dulu sebelum pulang.

Ada ide spontan untuk lewat "Taman Lawang", ya pengen liat2 aja gimana sih suasananya. Karena semua pada setuju jadilah kita kesitu. Dengan mobil pelan2 kita liatin satu2 "transvestite" yang ada disitu. Banyak kejadian lucu, karena gw takut banget so keringat dingin keluar semua, terus tetep waspada untuk kunci pintu n kaca :p. Hmm rupanya ada juga lho yang lumayan cakep, kok bisa ya, bahkan ada yang berani buka2an...gile bener. Abis puter2 2 kali capek deh rasanya soalnya takut banget klo diapa2in. Mobil langsung aja luncur lagi ke rumah.

Nah pas didaerah blokm ada yang minta dilewatin "Mahakam", klo yang ini katanya girl2 aseli lho. Tapi karena udah pagi , ya udah sepi, paling klo ada ya yang ga bagus2 amat. Hmm masih penasaran ada yang ngajak ke "Gajahmada", karena kejauhan n udah capek akhirnya dibatalin deh. Sampe dirumah gw bener2 capek n mikir gile bener hari ini :), Jakarta emang kayak gini , apa aja ada, mulai dari low sampe high asal ada uang maka akan done. Mudah2an aja gw ga kebawa arus yang begitu. Amien

Humble MySQL Security

Lagi2 MySQL :p, ya soalnya dari kemarin mencoba integrate dengan database telkomsel.com yang ternyata ga ada yang pake oracle. Mungkin ini sedikit tips untuk keamanan di MySQL bagi orang2 newbie seperti aku. Yang lebih aku tekankan adalah pengaturan pada tiga table berikut (semuanya ada di database mysql) :

Prinsipnya sih klo aku pikir2 hampir sama seperti setting2 di iptables (ingat jaman ngoprek pake Linux :) ). Jadi intinya tutup rapat semua yang general dan buka di bagian yang lebih spesifik. Dari 3 table diatas berurutan mulai dari general ke yang lebih spesifik

Ini akan mengatur host mana aja yang boleh mengakses ke database server ini dengan user yang apropriate. Disini juga akan diatur role2 untuk CRUD dan privileges. Saranku pastikan untuk diset ke "N" value semua role2 yang ada jika ingin mengatur ke yang lebih spesifik di dalam table db

Lebih spesifik ke pada akses database, klo user table untuk masalah host security, db table lebih kearah privileges untuk menggunakan db yang diinginkan sesuai role. Sekali lagi klo memang kita mau lebih spesifik ke table privileges maka semua role lebih baik untuk diset ke "N" value.

privileges yang paling spesifik, jadi disini kmu bisa maen2 role2 apa aja bagi sebuah host dan user untuk mengakses suatu table. Disini ada column Table_priv untuk diisi type DML dan DDL apa yang diperbolehkan terhadap suatu table, bisa Insert, Delete, Update, atau Create.

Dengan mendefinisikan didalam table2 tersebut maka untuk langkah pertama keamanan sudah cukup baik , meskipun mungkin ada yang lebih spesifik dan urgent. So mohon sharenya klo memang tidak hanya itu saja dalam melakukan keamanan di MySQL server.

Bete khan klo lupa password root dari mysql server. Ya memang demi keamanan memang database server harus di proteksi dengan password, namanya lupa mau diapain lagi. Aku juga kemarin baru2 saja mengalaminya, but ada trick untuk mengatasi hal ini, dan perlu diingat ini hanya akan berjalan sekali dalam start server untuk pertama kali.

Family Gathering at Marbella , Anyer

Weekend yang menyenangkan, mulai hari jumat sudah libur :). Yup, my company mengadakan acara family gathering di anyer dan tempatnya sih ga tanggung2 , Sol Elite Marbella bro. Meskipun begitu tetep aja ada beberapa problem, mulai pas berangkatnya yang katanya mo pake kendaraan bus "White House" eh ternyata cuman pake "Kopaja berAC", he4x bener2 kacau deh. Tapi lumayanlah siangnya dapet makan sepuasnya di Sari Kuring Cilegon.

Pas sampe di Marbella, ternyata keren juga hotel ini, gede dan megah. Ditambah lagi groupku dapet jatah kamar type "President Suite", hmm baru kali ini merasakan hotel mewah. Ya lumayanlah untuk pengganti gagalnya fam gath ke Bali. Sayangnya sih dari pihak team organizernya kurang kreatif, cuman kegiatannya kumpul2 , makan dan tidur. Makanya aku ama sohib2 1 kamar sering banget maen bilyard biar ga bete.

Acara hari awal, sore hari maen bola di pantai, gile bener dasar ga pernah olahraga semuanya KO padahal baru beberapa menit aja. Justru sang bos, si Irwan yang sepertinya baru pertama maen bola , ngajakin terus n tanya2 cara nendang ala Beckham :) , lucu juga si bos, bener2 disini kita semua free udah melupakan kerjaan yang sebenernya menumpuk. Kesanku terhadap pantainya sih biasa aja, bisa dibilang sangan jelek !!, banyak pedagang kaki lima dan tukang pijat kampungan :(. Pas malemnya setelah makan malem, kita yang cowok kumpul2 ngobrol ringan2 dipinggir pantai. Hmm akhirnya pertama kali aku rasain bir karena temen2 pada nawarin, baru 1/2 kaleng udah ga kuat sepertinya. Kok pada seneng ya ama bir, padahal rasanya ga enak banget mendingan minum teh botol sosro.

Sabtu pagi yang seru, maen jetsky , banana boat dan simple surfing dengan gratis . Dari pagi ampe tengah siang bolong. Hmm temen2 kulitnya pada jadi udang rebus merah2 yang kulitnya putih, nah klo kulitnya yang hitam kayak aku tambah gosong banget. After that, acara meeting yang kata temen2 senior mirip kayak "Cuci Otak" bener2 membosankan. Baru setelah itu game2 diadakan, Komukasi (teamku juara 1, tapi peserta cuman 2), bakiak ga dapet juara padahal udah pake strategi keren :), sumpit kelereng juara 1 karena biasa makan hoka2 bento, dan terakhir juara 3 gebuk bantal, ya soalnya pas semifinal lawanya sang bos, so ga enak klo menang :)). Malam hari bener2 KO aku, diajak maen bilyard udah ga kuat lagi.

Minggu pagi yang cerah, makan pagi kesiangan dan diterusin dengan bilyard sampe kumpul dilobby buat checkout dan makan siang. Udah kebayang bete karena busnya pasti bikin ga nyaman, eh ternyata salah, bus nya jadi kramat djati yang sangat nyaman. Thank banget neh buat team event organizer yang telah menerima dan menindaklanjuti keluhan kita2. Bener2 melelahkan tapi menyenangkan, I hope we will go to Bali for next family gathering, and I hope I will go with my spouse :)). Alhamdullilah Amien.

Drupal CMS (Content Management System)

Lupakan sejenak masalah love :p, lumayan lho buat diotak atik, semua nya tinggal konfigurasi sana sini, jadi deh. Ya klo loe semua pengen bikin web tapi masih belum canggih codingnya pake aja CMS yang satu ini. Klo udah biasa dengan MAMBO, ga ada salahnya untuk coba yang satu ini. Fiturnya cukup lengkap mulai dari content management system, blogs, forums, newsletters, picture galleries , themes dan module2 lain yang tinggal di plug and unplug. Installasi cukup mudah, tutorialnya cukup lengkap untuk ukuran software gratis :).

Jadi klo loe mo bikin web site yang butuh fitur lengkap, Drupal is best choice. Kemarin sih aku mo coba ajuin projek pribadi untuk bikin web dengan layanan module : forum, blog, news dan SMS. Semua ini bisa diimplementasi kok, SMS module itu tinggal dimasukin pluginnya n it will be running.

Kemarin sih sempat2 baca artikel dan forum tentang "Drupal vs MAMBO". Kebanyakan sih bilang Drupal bisa saja menggantikan MAMBO, karena saat ini Drupal sangan mudah dan modular banget. Klo menurutku sih terserah mo pake yang mana, itu bisa tergantung dari web site yang akan kita bikin. Pada dasarnya aku berpendapat, teknologi CMS-nya itu yang hebat, sedangkan tool2nya lebih bersifat mempermudah aja.

28th Jazz Goes To Campus

Sebenernya aku ga begitu suka musik jazz , alternative maniak. Tapi karena ada temen aku yang master jazz ajak nonton JGTC, khan ga ada salahnya ikut2an nimbrung. Lagian bisa aja ketemu ama yummy girl di FE UI. Dengan mengusung tema "Journey of a Symphony" terdapat 2 stage yaitu "Stage Symphony dan Stage Harmony". Sepertinya "Stage Symphony" adalah main stage, karena banyaknya pemusik jazz ternama yang main disana. Sedangkan "Stage Harmony" lebih kearah pemusik muda berbakat. Itu as far as i know, soalnya aku juga pemula banget neh :).

Dari mulai jam 10 sampe 6 sore aku mencoba menikmati musik jazz. Aku terkesan banget ama Starlite, Tika, BazzAttack disamping pemusik terkenal kayak Ireng Maulana, Tompi , NERA. Terutama ama Starlite dan Tika. Starlite ini pemenang Jazz Music Competition 2004, dan gilenya personelnya semua cewek2 imut :), apalagi drummernya masih SMP bro. Musiknya kebanyakan instrument dan skillnya wow keren banget. Untuk tika aku lebih terkesan karena suara dan jenis musiknya, mirip2 kayak The Cardigans gitu deh.

Karena saking menikmatinya, aku bahkan minta kirim temenku yang master jazz untuk kirim list dari koleksi jazznya. Hmm sepertinya mulai mencoba menekuni jazz, terutama yang jazz modern :), alternative ? I always still loving it
